I can’t believe it’s been almost an entire month since my last post, and I sincerely apologize for the delay. Third year is really getting to me, and I am already half way through this semester, so unfortunately that means all of my assignments are going to start taking over my time and I may have less time to write blog posts…
But that also means I’m a quarter of my way through my final year, and I need to start thinking about what I want to do when I enter the big wide world of work. So, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to sit down, and tell you guys what my plans are for next year.
Right now, I am in the process of applying for Camp America. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but I’ve always put it off for one reason or another, but this year is going to be the year I do it. I haven’t finished my application yet, but it’s getting there and I really hope it’s successful because I’m getting really excited about the prospect of working in America for a summer! I haven’t been to the USA since I was ten years old, and if I go, I will be twenty one, so it’s definitely been a long time coming! It also means I can travel a bit in my time off, so I can explore some more.
My other plan is to teach English, perhaps in Europe somewhere. I’m thinking of going to France for a year or so, because I’ve done GCSE and A level French already so I have a basic understanding of the language, so I hope that will help me out a bit if I go over there! Plus I get to work and travel again, which is something I’ve always wanted to do, and if I’m there for a year, it’ll hopefully mean I finally become fluent in French, which has always been a life goal of mine. I don’t know if that’s a weird goal, but it’s a goal all the same so don’t judge me!
Those two things are probably the more definite of the things I wish to do with my life, and obviously these are short term plans. In the long term, I don’t really know what I want to do. I know that I’m interested in publishing and marketing, but I think I’d need to get an internship in those areas to have more chance of a) knowing if I’ll actually like it and b) getting a proper job afterwards.
So yeah! That’s what I’m thinking of doing with myself for the next couple of years! I don’t know how everything will pan out, but hopefully it’ll all be for the best. I hope you enjoyed this post, and hopefully my next one won’t be at the start of next month…
