Its currently the musical interlude of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, which in my opinion has been the highlight of the entire evening. Overall, I think the standards of this year’s Eurovision haven’t been as good as previous years, but I’m going to go through some of my favourite and least favourite acts.
Firstly, let’s talk about my home country, the UK. What even was that? Electro Velvet need to learn a thing or two from previous years and actually look at how they one because singing a rubbish song like that isn’t going to get us anywhere, now is it? No. I didn’t think so. Singing a “country-pop-dance-mash-up” isn’t really going to get the votes, in my opinion. I’m sorry, but it’s a no from me.
Israel were actually quite amusing. I loved the guy’s gold shoes and the dancing, and it reminded me of 90’s/early 00’s boyband music. Not that I like boyband music, but it was entertaining all the same. However, there isn’t really much else I can say about it, because it didn’t stand out too much.
NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT SWEDEN. He was amazing and I loved the animations, and the song was upbeat, unlike the rest of the ballads we had to endure for the rest of the evening. I liked that the singer was the only one on stage apart from the little cartoon man/men because it was different and entertaining, which is what Eurovision is all about, right?
I also really liked Latvia. Once she started singing the chorus, I was just like “ohhhh my God she looks like a mermaid and she can sing and I can’t and I want to be as talented as her and uhh”… A lot of people on Twitter said they thought she was shouting too much but I liked it. I thought it was just passion, rather than anger or anything.
I was quite active on Twitter this evening too, so I’m going to finish this post with some of my tweets so you can really see my opinions across the evening. Enjoy!
