I’m sure some of you are aware that The Ghostbusters is coming back to our screens with a female cast, which, in my opinion, is a good thing. At first I questioned it, because we’re all used to the four guys in green suits who save the city from unwanted ghouls. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with changing it to be the other way around, I mean… girls are just as capable as fighting ghosts as men are, and I can say that because ghosts don’t actually exist, so who knows who would be better in a fight with a ghost?
There have been many complaints about this upcoming sequel to the film, and it’s ironic that most of the complainers are men. I’m not saying all men are making a massive deal, but it is the majority. And I suppose it’s fair enough if they are attached to the original, and feel that making a sequel is a bit much… but I don’t think that’s really what it’s about here. I think the fact that there are loads of complaints is because they can’t deal with the idea of women as the leads. Like, OMG, women can be GHOSTBUSTERS?!? NO WAY!
And also, the film isn’t even going to be released until next year, so there’s literally no point in complaining about it when you haven’t even seen the first 30 second trailer, so we have no idea whether it’s going to be a success or not. There are people saying things like “All female cast? Why? Ruining a classic.” LIKE WHAT THE FRICK??? You can’t say it’s ruining a classic when you haven’t seen it yet so please just keep the complaints to a minimum because for all you know, it could be the best film or sequel you’ve ever seen, so let’s just calm it down, okay?
