Review on… The Understudy

Hello, internet people.

Over the holidays, i read “The Understudy” by David Nicholls.

The Understudy is about Stephen C McQueen, an actor who gets to play passers by and dead people… oh, and he’s the understudy of super star Josh Harper. Stephen soon falls for Josh’s wife Nora, while still hoping for that big break to make his daughter and ex-wife proud of him.

I really, really enjoyed reading this book, because it’s funny, and clever, and it’s realistic and i would definitley read it again. It was written well, and it had a good plot and i wanted to carry on reading to find out what happened next. I guess the fact that it’s about something that i’m interested in helped, because you can relate to the character if you understand it more. So, i’d recommend it to anyone, really. It might not be for you, but it could just be the book you’ve been longing for, and if you’ve read other books by David Nicholls and enjoyed them, you’ll probably like this one too.
